The Prodigal son was conceived and cut out of a single piece of paper in the Pennsylvania Dutch "scherenschnitte" style. Hence, the figures are represented as "farmers". The visual elements include: The Trinity - crown, dove and thorns; The 2 central figures - the younger son, older brother; The father; 2 angels heralding the story.
The visual telling of this Prodigal Son is in the shape of the cross, a reminder of the price that was paid for our redemption by Jesus our Lord.
This framed piece was made by Paul Green to be a blessing to all who see it. He will be creating a piece "live" during our artwalk. Be sure to go by his booth!
